Anne Keothavong's disastrous run of form continued when she failed to qualify for the main draw of the Luxembourg Open.

Fellow Brits Laura Robson and Heather Watson are enjoying the best year of their careers but British No.3 Keothavong is having a terrible time.

The world No.82 had suffered nine first round defeats coming into the tournament, the worst run of her career.

She won two rounds of qualifying against Sandra Zahlavova and Jasmina Tinjic but in the final round she was beaten 6-4 6-3 by Russia's Vera Dushevina, the world No.121.

Keothavong's serve was, not for the first time this year, her Achilles heel - she won just eight points on her second serve as she was broken six times.

Her last victory was in the first round of Wimbledon back in June and her failure in Luxembourg means she is facing another big drop down the rankings next week.

She had a lot of ranking points to defend in Luxembourg as she reached the semi-finals there last year.
