Top seed Mikhail Youzhny continued to delight the crowds at the St Petersburg Open by breezing into the quarter-finals with a 6-1 6-4 win over American Rajeev Ram. Youzhny, a former champion at the event, took just 66 minutes to book a last-eight tie against Spanish seventh seed Guillermo Garcia-Lopez, who won through when opponent Paolo Lorenzi retired trailing 6-1 3-1. Slovakian third seed Martin Klizan also made it through with a 6-3 6-3 victory over Italy's Simone Bolelli, setting up a quarter-final against Lithuania's Ricardas Berankis, who won the first set 6-3 over Jurgen Zopp before the Estonian retired. Fourth seed Fabio Fognini of Italy saw off Sergiy Stakhovsky to book a tie with Spain's Roberto Bautista-Agut, while in another Italy versus Spain match-up, Flavio Cipolla will play Daniel Gimeno-Traver.
