Andy Murray: Has beaten Lopez is all six of their previous meetings
Spaniard Feliciano Lopez will play Britain's Andy Murray in the third round of the US Open after coming through a tough second round clash.
It took the 30th seed four hours and 15 minutes to get the better of his compatriot Pablo Andujar 6-4 6-1 6-7 3-6 7-5.
Lopez looked set for a fairly easy afternoon when he broke three times to win a 25-minute second set.
However, there were no breaks in set three and Andujar won the tie-break 7-5, before breaking twice to win the fourth set and force a decider.
The duo then exchanged breaks in the final set before Lopez finally made the decisive breakthrough, the big-server finishing the match with 19 aces.
Murray will not be unduly concerned, having beaten Lopez in all six of their previous meetings, one of which came at the third round stage of this event last year, when the British third seed eased to a 6-1 6-4 6-2 victory.
