Lukas Rosol: beat Rafael Nadal at Wimbledon
Wimbledon hero Lukas Rosol beat fifth-seeded Robin Haase of the Netherlands 6-4 7-5 to advance to the second round of the Mercedes Cup in Stuttgart.
Rosol stunned Rafael Nadal in the second round at the All England Club, although despite the biggest win of his career, the big-serving Czech had actually dropped three places to number 103 in the ATP rankings.
However Rosol served 12 aces and won 91 per cent of his first-serve points against Haase.
Seventh seed Lukas Kubot also crashed out after he lost to 21-year-old local hopeful Cedrik-Marcel Stebe 6-2 0-6 6-3.
Veteran German Tommy Haas was the only seed to progress on Tuesday as he rallied past Igor Andreev 4-6 6-2 6-2.
Also moving into the second round were Bjorn Phau of Germany, Thomaz Bellucci of Brazil, Benoit Paire of France, Tobias Kamke of Germany, Pavol Cervenak of Slovakia and Jeremy Chardy of France.
