Dutch sixth seed Robin Haase suffered a major upset on day two of the Hassan II Grand Prix in Casablanca as he was well beaten in straight sets by Algeria's world number 752 Lamine Ouahab.

Ouahab took advantage of all four of his break-point opportunities to beat the 51-ranked Haase 6-3 6-2 and secure a second-round clash with Spanish qualifier Sergio Gutierrez-Ferrol, who beat Portugal's Rui Machado 6-2 6-1.

Frenchman Paul-Henri Mathieu ended the hopes of home wild-card Mehdi Ziadi 6-3 6-1 in just 67 minutes, while Tunisia's Malek Jaziri retired when trailing 6-2 3-0 to Victor Hanescu of Romania.

Seventh seed Albert Ramos beat fellow Spaniard Pere Riba 6-2 6-3 while there were also wins for Jeremy Chardy, Matthias Bachinger and Italian pair Potito Starace and Flavio Cipolla.
