Victoria Azarenka: Totally dominating the women's scene
Victoria Azarenka underlined her current dominance of women's tennis with a 6-1 6-2 victory over Sam Stosur in the final of the Qatar Open.
The recent winner of the Australian Open overcame an ankle injury she sustained in the semi-finals to dominate the world number five and reigning US Open champion.
The Belarusian looked to shorten the points from the outset and her power from the baseline once again proved too much for her opponent.
Stosur had claimed the opening game but Azarenka won the next nine to take the match away from from the Australian, who eventually went down in an hour and seven minutes.
After wins in Sydney and Melbourne, Azarenka is now on an unbeaten run of 17 matches as she collected an 11th career title.
"I can't believe I was able to play that kind of tennis today," said the world number one. "I'm just trying to do my best, I knew I wasn't going to be 100 percent.
"I had to change and adjust and I was going for my shots and I was lucky everything was going in."
