World number two Roger Federer will return to action at the Madrid Masters event next week, according to the competition's organisers.
The US Open champion had taken a three-week rest from the game following his participation in the Davis Cup group play-offs in September.
And, despite Federer's absence from the Stockholm Open, Madrid Masters organiser Manolo Santana is expecting the 13-time grand slam winner to make his return in the Spanish capital.
"It is great to know we can count on Federer's participation for another year," said Santana.
"I hope he arrives well rested so that we can enjoy his best tennis.
"The conditions in Madrid and the type of surface are ideal for his style of play."
