WTA Kia Korea Open: Agnieszka Radwanska whitewashes Chanelle Scheepers

Top seed Agnieszka Radwanska whitewashed Chanelle Scheepers on her way to the Kia Korea Open quarter-final.

The Pole triumphed 6-0 6-0 in just 49 minutes – the fourth time she has achieved a 'double bagel' at WTA level.

Scheepers had two break points on the Radwanska serve in the first game but the top seed held and never faced another game point.

She will next take on Varvara Lepchenko, who beat Radwanska in their last meeting, in the last eight on Friday after the fifth seed triumphed 7-5 6-1 over South Korean wildcard Han Na-Lee.

Han had led 5-3 in the first set and held a set point but she double faulted and Lepchenko took full advantage, going on to win 10 of the next 11 games.

The 28-year-old told the WTA’s official website: “Overall I think I started a bit slowly, but I managed to put it together and started playing better and getting my focus together in the second set.

"It was just about staying in the game and staying focused at the right moments. I got more comfortable as the match went on."

In other action, No 2 seed Karolina Pliskova battled past Anna-Lena Friedsam 6-4 6-7 (5-7) 6-2, while Christina McHale overcame Mona Barthel 6-1 4-6 6-3.
