Victoria Azarenka will make her return from injury at the Aegon International in Eastbourne next week.

The world No 8 has struggled with a foot problem since the Australian Open and has not played a match since making an very brief attempt to return in Indian Wells in March.

Azarenka was clearly not fit in losing her first match to Lauren Davis in California and she pulled out of the French Open to continue her recovery.

But the Belarus star has accepted a wild card into the Eastbourne tournament and she said: "I've worked hard to rehabilitate my injury and to get fit for my return.

"I've played at Eastbourne three times and always enjoyed it. The grass courts are world class, which will give me the best possible start to the second half of the season, and the perfect preparation for Wimbledon."
