Great Britain's Fed Cup promotion bid remains on track after they beat Hungary 2-1 on Saturday.

Singles wins for Laura Robson and Heather Watson gave Judy Murray's team an unassailable 2-0 lead in the tie to book a Europe/Africa Group Zone I play-off against Bulgaria on Sunday.

But Robson and Johanna Konta were unable to complete a whitewash as they lost 6-4 2-6 6-2 to Reca-Luca Jani and Katalin Marosi in the doubles to leave the final match score 2-1 to Britain.

Robson overcame a major first-set scare to put GB ahead in Eilat, Israel.

The British number two was troubled by a shoulder problem as she lost the opening set 6-0 to Greta Arn, a player ranked almost 100 places below her.

However, Robson recovered to post a 0-6 6-2 6-1 victory.

Watson had fewer problems in beating Timea Babos 6-3 6-2.

She had a slight wobble in the first set when she squandered a 3-0 lead with a double-break as Babos fought back to 3-3.

However, Watson duly won the next three games to win a see-saw set and extended that run to six at the start of the second.

At that point, with her hopes hanging by a thread, Babos required treatment on a foot injury and although she was able to continue, Watson soon wrapped up a straight-sets win.

The result means GB finish top of Pool B and now face Pool D winners Bulgaria, who boast former Wimbledon semi-finalist Tsvetana Pironkova in their line-up, on Sunday to decide which nation progresses to April's World Group II play-offs.
