Dominika Cibulkova booked an Australian Open final date with Na Li with an emphatic 6-1 6-2 victory over Agnieszka Radwanska.
The Slovakian needed just 70 minutes to see off the world No 5, recording her fourth successive victory over a higher-seeded opponent at Melbourne Park.
Radwanska headed into the match as favourite having won five of their six previous meetings, including a double-bagel triumph in the final of the Sydney International just over 12 months ago.
However, the world No 24, who had previously failed to make it past the fourth round here, made the perfect start in breaking in the opening game before doing so twice more to see out the set.
"Aga is an unbelievable player and I expected a tough match. I just knew I had to go for my shots."
She then cruised into a 4-0 lead at the start of the second before Radwanska offered up brief resistance with a hold and a break but failed to repeat the feat as she was broken to love when serving to stay in the match.
Radwanska will be left to rue a host of missed chances, having had the same amount of break points as her opponent but taking just the one.
Cibulkova will look to upset the odds once more on Saturday when she faces Li, who saw off Eugenie Bouchard 6-2 6-4, by recording a first victory over the world No 4, having lost all of their previous four encounters.
"Aga is an unbelievable player and I expected a tough match. I just knew I had to go for my shots," said Cibulkova.
"I had so many thoughts in my head (during the match) but just focused on my game. I can't believe I'm in a final."
