Novak Djokovic beat Richard Gasquet in three sets as he warmed up for Sunday's ATP World Tour Finals semi-final with a demanding workout.

The Serbian defending champion already knew he would be facing Stanislas Wawrinka in the last four whatever the outcome of his clash with the Frenchman.

But he produced a typically professional performance in wining 7-6 4-6 6-3 to record his 20th straight win since the final of the US Open.

Gasquet, who had been eliminated after losing his first two matches, put up a decent showing, although Djokovic always seemed pretty much in control in London's 02 Arena.

Swiss number two Wawrinka had a rest day on Saturday while Djokovic was battling for two hours with Gasquet, but such is the Serb's fitness he will surely not feel any the worse for his efforts come Sunday evening.

Djokovic has won his last 13 matches against Wawrinka, including a pair of thrilling clashes at the Australian and US Opens this year.
