Frank Lampard's uncertain future at Chelsea proved to be one of the sagas of the football season.
The 34-year-old looked to be heading for the exit door at Stamford Bridge as his contract ran down with a new one, for a long time, seemingly not forthcoming.
But in what turned out to be the perfect end to the season, Lampard not only got the new one-year deal he craved, but also broke Bobby Tambling's all-time scoring record for the club and picked up the Europa League title.
