Belle Vue have axed struggling Polish rider Artur Mroczka with Ulrich Ostergaard set to make a return to the club in time for Monday's home clash with Poole.

The Dane, who rides for Redcar in the Premier League, has had three previous spells with the Aces, and co-promoter Chris Morton admits Mroczka's current form had left them in need of a change.

Ostergaard will come into the squad as a reserve with a 4.86 average, making his debut at No 6 on Monday.

Morton said: "It's sad that we've had to let Artur go because we've seen some good form and some great racing from him, but he just can't find it at the moment.

"We had to make the change because we are in a position, with the matches in hand, that if we don't take advantage now then we could be throwing away a great opportunity.

"Ulrich is currently in very good form in the Premier League, and as he is not being used by any other Elite League team we are in a favourable position to bring him into the side.

"He's a rider that always gives it his all, and because he has ridden for us in the past we know he has the experience needed to help back up the rest of the team.

"At No 6 we'll be looking for him to be doing a reserve's job, but with the way the rest of the boys are going our expectations will be for him to be hitting at least his average in points."
