Birmingham Brummies moved level with Wolverhampton at the top of the Elite League table after a comfortable 54-39 win over Belle Vue Aces.

The Brummies dominated from the stars and Belle Vue were not able to live with a very impressive team display.

Result and scorers:

BIRMINGHAM 54

Chris Harris 12+1, Ben Barker 9+2, Danny King 9+1, Nico Covatti 7+3, Martin Smolinski 7+1, Josh Auty 6+2, Jason Doyle 4+1

BELLE VUE 39

Matej Zagar 17, Craig Cook 9, Magnus Zetterstrom 6, Ales Drmyl 4+1, Artur Mroczka 1, Kevin Wolbert 1, Kauko Niemenen 1

Birmingham ran just three lasts in the whole meeting, as all their riders enjoyed some success.

Chris Harris enjoyed one of his best nights of the year with paid 13 as he led the Brummies home - as Ben Barker, Danny King and Nico Covatti were also paid for double figures.

Team Manager Phil Morris said: "I'm delighted with the thtee points, all the boys rode well and the switches I've made in riding positions paid off.

"We're joint leaders of the Elite League now with Wolverhampton but we've still raced less meetings. I'm looking forward to seeing how we fair at Poole on Monday live on Sky Sports and we're going there full of confidence looking for a win."

Grand Prix star Matej Zagar was in top form for the visitors with 17, but there was too little in terms of support for the Slovenian.
