Belle Vue star Ales Dryml has been called up to race at the Czech Republic Grand Prix on May 18.

The Czech Republic captain takes the place of Australian Darcy Ward, who fractured his shoulder blade in Sweden on Saturday.

Dryml qualified as first reserve for this year's series by finishing fourth in the GP Challenge at Gorican in September last year.

Krzysztof Kasprzak, Matej Zagar and Niels-Kristian Iversen beat him to qualification, but Ward's misfortune means Dryml joins them in the main field.

Dryml's last Grand Prix appearance came in the same event in Prague back in 2005.
