Great Britain have named their squad for the Speedway World Cup, which begins at the end of this month.

Britain will race in Event 1 of the World Cup, with the hope of claiming a prize that has alluded them since 1989. They will face Australia and USA in the meeting which is being staged at King's Lynn.

The winner's join hosts and current champions Poland in the final, with the next two best sides going into the race-off against countries from Event 2 for the last spot in the final.

Team GB will be captained by World and British champion Tai Woffinden, with team boss Alun Rossiter naming a 10-man squad.

Joining Wolverhampton star Woffinden is fellow Grand Prix rider and GB stalwart Chris Harris and they will be the focal point of the side, with two further riders joining them in the final line-up.

Craig Cook, who will claimed the wildcard for the British Grand Prix later this month, is included after making his debut in the event last year and he will be hopeful of earning a starting spot.

Ben Barker and Lewis Bridger - who were in the squad which missed out on a place in the final last year when they were knocked out in the race-off - are included again whilst Danny King and Simon Stead.

Richie Worrall, Richard Lawson and Lewis Kerr are the new faces included by Rossiter but there is no place for in-form Eastbourne reserve Lewis Blackbird, 16-year-old starlet Robert Lambert or Jason Garrity - who made a huge impact in the British final.
