Birmingham captain Danny King booked his spot in the British Final with victory in the semi-final.
The Great Britain international led the field home at Sheffield's Owlerton home with a 14-point return, one ahead of Birmingham team-mate Ben Barker and Craig Cook.
Former British champions Chris Harris and Scott Nicholls secured their passage to Wolverhampton, along with Sheffield specialists Simon Stead and Adam Roynon.
The one major casualty was 2008 British runner-up Ed Kennett - who could only score 7 points.
King, though, was delighted to have made it to the final, where he will hope to clinch the wild-card for the British Grand Prix, which is available for the winner - or for the highest finisher if reigning champion Tai Woffinden or Chris Harris finish highest as they are already in the Grand Prix series.
“I came here to qualify, but to win the meeting is fantastic for me. I hope I can use this to sharpen up my form in the Elite League and help Birmingham get back to some respectable results.”
The qualifiers from Sheffield:
1. Danny King (Birmingham) 14
2. Craig Cook (Belle Vue/Edinburgh) 13
3. Ben Barker (Birmingham/Plymouth) 13
4. Scott Nicholls (Belle Vue) 12
5. Simon Stead (Leicester/Sheffield) 10
6. Chris Harris (Coventry) 8
7. Adam Roynon (Sheffield) 8
