Poole Pirates got the victory they needed from their fixture at Belle Vue Aces to keep their play-off hopes alive - for the time being at least.
The Pirates led 35-28 after 10 heats when both teams agreed track conditions at Kirkmanshulme Lane were too dangerous to continue.
That was the earliest opportunity the meeting could be stopped and the result still stand.
Poole move up to fourth place in the Elite League table and Lakeside Hammers are the only team who can still deny them the final play-off spot.
To do so, the Hammers must earn maximum points at Swindon Robins on Thursday.
Greg Hancock and Josh Grajczonek both won two heats for the Pirates on the night but the meeting was marred by a crash at the opening corner of heat eight that saw Thomas H Jonasson require medical attention.
The Swede was placed in a neck brace and taken from the track by ambulance, although Poole team manager Neil Middleditch spoke with Jonasson and said the rider had not sustained a serious injury.
Also on Monday, Krzysztof Buczkowski contributed a paid maximum to Peterborough Panthers' 55-38 victory over Wolverhampton Wolves.
