Peter Karlsson: Top-scored for Lakeside Hammers
Birmingham boss Phil Morris has urged his side to bounce back from consecutive defeats on the road after they were beaten 50-40 at Lakeside on Friday.
The Hammers produced a spectacular finish to the meeting with three 5-1s in the last three races, Peter Karlsson top-scoring with 12+2, as they secured maximum points to move back into the Elite League's top four.
That meant the Brummies drop to second place below Wolverhampton on points-difference - and the two sides meet on Wednesday at Perry Barr.
"We knew it was going to be tough with all the absences, but at the end of the day the more solid team won," said Morris.
"I think the Hammers were a little bit shocked when we led with only a few heats to go, but we threw it away and maybe should have capitalised more in the early heats.
"But what has happened has happened and we need to focus on the Wolves match now this coming Wednesday."
