Belle Vue Aces have swooped to sign Australian ace Adam Shields.
The 34-year-old was left out by previous club Lakeside Hammers after they confirmed their starting VII for 2012.
The Aces, who made an enquiry for Shields earlier in the winter, wasted little time in swooping to seal his signature.
Aces team managerJim Lynch said: "We moved very quickly when Adam became available after ourinitial interest had fallen through.
"He is a rider I have admired over the years, not just for his ability but for his great attitude to the sport."
