Birmingham Brummies have confirmed the appointment of Jack Lee as their new team manager ahead of the new season.
Lee has been in charge of National League outfit Buxton for nearly 20-years, but he has now accepted an offer to take charge of Birmingham - who needed a new manager after parting company with Phil Morris last year.
“I’m over the moon to be given the chance to manage Birmingham, it came completely out of the blue but I’m just delighted," he told the Birmingham Mail.
“I was coming into my 20th season with Buxton after being there since their first ever meeting so to step away is very difficult.
“I’ve told them if they want me to help out I’ll try to whenever possible, but the opportunity to come and manage in the Elite League doesn’t come around every day.
“It’s the chance that everybody dreams of I suppose, and I’ve just grabbed it with both hands.
“I’m looking forward to getting started and hopefully being involved in a successful season for Birmingham.
“I’ve been working in the sport for a long time, and although that’s mostly been in the National League I’d like to think I know how to get the best out of riders,” he added.
“It’s going to be a bit daunting at first being involved in the Elite League but I’m sure I can do a good job and help Birmingham to do well.”
