Ronnie O'Sullivan eased into the second round of the Wyldecrest Parks Players Championship Grand Final at Preston's Guild Hall.

Defending champion Ding Junhui surrendered his title on the opening day but there was no slip up from O'Sullivan, who saw off Scott Donaldson 4-0.

A break of 109 in the second frame was the highlight for the world champion, who faces Yu Delu in round two.

Yu beat Chinese compatriot Liang Wenbo 4-2, while Ryan Day defeated Stuart Bingham 4-3 and Mark Allen ousted Jamie Jones 4-2.

Mark Selby will not be joining O'Sullivan in round two, though.

The world number two was upset 4-0 by Dave Gilbert, failing to make a break of over 50.

Joe Perry won the night's other game, beating Mark Davis 4-3.
