Among those still remaining in the tournament, which eliminates players after single 10-minute frames, are the likes of Mark Allen, Stuart Bingham, Ali Carter and Graeme Dott.
In an event where the leading names often struggle to adapt, former world champion Shaun Murphy was beaten by Jamie Burnett and Steve Davis lost to Ryan Day.
Allen did well, though, beating both Mark and Robbie Williams, while Carter came past Jamie Cope. Bingham was a victor against Zhang Anda and Dott saw off Tom Ford.
The remaining 16 players will be whittled down to a winner on Sunday.
