The Scotsman raced into a 3-0 lead before reigning UK Open Champion Robertson pulled two frames back.
However, Maguire took the next three in a row to complete a handsome victory and set up a showdown against crowd favourite Ronnie O'Sullivan.
Maguire was not fancied to topple the Australian, but his long potting was faultless and Robertson was never able to get a foothold in the game.
Even when he had a chance to keep the match alive in the eighth frame, Robertson's form was summed up when he went in-off after making a regulation pot.
Saturday's other semi-final is an all-English clash between former world champion Shaun Murphy and Mark Selby.
