Ali Carter has revealed he is looking to return to snooker after undergoing treatment for lung cancer.

The former World Championship finalist had already successfully overcome testicular cancer when he was diagnosed with lung cancer in May.

The 35-year-old – who also suffers with Crohn’s disease - subsequently undertook an intensive course of chemotherapy and has issued a positive bulletin on the results.

He wrote on Twitter: “I have now finished my chemotherapy and things are really positive!

“I'm feeling much better and it won't be long till I'm back playing again!! Missed it big time.. #perspective #beating cancer."

The Essex-born cueman has twice reached the world final at The Crucible, losing on both occasions to Ronnie O’Sullivan in 2008 and 2012.
