400m hurdler looks to the future after failing to make London final

GB hurdler Perri Shakes-Drayton is looking to use her Olympics disappointment to fire her to future success.
The east Londoner admitted it was "hard and devastating" to miss out on the 400m hurdles final at the home Games, but she is already looking ahead to future events.
Hopes were high for the 23-year-old after she went into the Games having run a PB of 53.77 in the Diamond League meeting at Crystal Palace.
But she missed out on a place in the Olympics final after finishing third in her semi-final heat.
Then she thought she had made it after the Czech Republic's Denisa Rosolova was disqualified for running out of her lane.
But the east Londoner then lost her spot after the Czech runner successfully appealed to overturn her disqualification.

"Hopefully (by the time) time Rio comes that will be my peak time and things will go well. But I'm going to use the disappointment that has happened to me and channel it into future competitions."

The Sky Sports scholar told Sky Sports News: "I think a few people were putting medals round my neck beforehand and I kept saying I need to make the final.
"Yes in Crystal Palace I ran a time that would get you to the final but I knew I had to replicate it again.
"It was so hard and devastating for me that it didn't happen."
He added: "(But) I'm not thinking about Rio, I'm thinking of the championships I've got before that - I mean I've got World Championships in Moscow, I've got Europeans, I've got Commonwealths, another World Championships.
"Hopefully (by the time) time Rio comes that will be my peak time and things will go well. But I'm going to use the disappointment that has happened to me and channel it into future competitions.
"It's not the last of Perri Shakes-Drayton, definitely not."
