I'm lucky enough to be writing this blog at the side of the pool from the sunny country that is South Africa.
After a very successful training block leading up to Christmas, I took a few well-earned days off training to relax and enjoy the holiday with my family and friends.
I have now been in South Africa for nearly two weeks, with only one week left I'm glad to say I'm having an amazing time and getting some good training in.
This is my first warm weather training camp in 2014 and after experiencing the good weather, food, training conditions and facilities; I'm looking forward to enjoying more camps after the 2014 indoor season.
Being away on camp is hard in some respects. I'm away from the people I love the most and sometimes it can be quite intense with all the training and not much down time but, on the other hand, it's the perfect environment for the highest possible training quality and there are no distractions leading me away from my ultimate goal (being the best pole vaulter I can be).
The indoor season is drawing near and I'm getting excited to start competing on the circuit again. This year the World Indoors will be held in Poland, and I have six competitions leading into this to help me prepare.
Being British I'm lucky to have three competitions based in the UK this indoors. I will be competing in the Sainsbury's Glasgow and Birmingham grand prix and then also the UK Championships in Sheffield.
I absolutely love doing these competitions as the crowd always gets behind me and that really spurs me on.
