Since I last blogged the summer has ended and winter training has kicked in.
My injury is healing well and now I'm into the next phase of rehab work as I build up towards running.
It can be frustrating dealing with injuries but progress is key to training, whether injured or healthy. As long as the scans are improving I can stay calm and concentrate on the training I can do. And it's been going well.
I feel better conditioned than ever before and I've been able to keep running the whole way through the injury thanks to an Alter-G treadmill.
It lets you run at a reduced body-weight so I don't feel like I am really missing out on many elements of training at the moment, the only problem is it doesn't go fast enough for a 400m runner!
Athletics is a very individual sport when you're competing, but when it comes to getting to the start line it's as much a team sport as any other. It really feels like getting over this injury has been a team effort between my coach, doctor, physio and myself.
Now that the end is in sight I've been able to start putting some exciting plans in place for training that I will hopefully be able to blog about soon!
