Lucy Garner and Quillan Isidore have been named in the Great Britain cycling squad for the funding year 2013/14.

Garner is in the women's endurance group under the Olympic Academy Programme whilst Isidore is part of the Olympic Development Programme for BMX.

The news will come as a particular boost for 17-year-old Isidore as he continues to recover from a broken fibula that forced him to undergo surgery in the past month.

He will continue as part of the BMX set-up that Great Britain Cycling performance director Sir Dave Brailsford spoke positively about as the squad was announced.

"The BMX programme has really stepped up since Liam Phillips became world champion and he continues to set the standard for the Academy riders who train with him almost daily," he said.

"There has been a slight restructuring of BMX coaching system, with Grant White continuing to lead the programme in his role of National BMX Coach, and Marcus Bloomfield supporting him in his new role of Academy and ODP BMX Coach."

For Garner, being part of the development programme ensures she is able to kick on once more having made her senior Road World Championships debut in Italy in September, having twice won the junior event.

With a successful first season on the senior tour completed, her aim will be to progress once more when the road season starts again in 2014.
