Swimmer Siobhan-Marie O'Connor achieved a best-placed finish of sixth as she reached four finals in the first FINA World Cup event of the season in Singapore on Wednesday.

The Sky Academy Sports Scholar competed in five events reaching the finals of the 100 metres butterfly, 200m freestyle and both the 100m individual medley and 200m individual medley.

Her time of 26.77 seconds in the 50m butterfly saw O'Connor narrowly miss out on a fifth final as she finished 10th.

There was greater success in the other four events as O'Connor produced some solid times.

All may not have gone to plan in the showpiece races with two eighth-placed finishes in the 100m butterfly and 200 IM joining the sixth-placed finishes in the 100 IM and the 200m freestyle, but the results provide a real base to build from whilst helping to build up fitness early on in the season.

With a further two World Cup events in Asia in November, O'Connor will be hoping to kick on after a steady and consistent start over a range of events.
