Savannah Marshall saw off Russia's Iaroslava Iakushina to book her place in the World Combat Games 75kg boxing final in St Petersburg on Tuesday.

A competitive first round saw the judges split with Marshall ahead on one but behind on two cards.

The 22-year-old from Hartlepool hit back in the second to draw level before stepping it up in the penultimate round to take the lead with a series of powerful combinations.

Another solid round gave her a 3-0 win as the judges scored the bout 40-36, 38-37, 39-37 in Marshall's favour.

The Sky Scholar will now face Qian Li of China in Thursday's final knowing a silver medal is guaranteed.
