Sky Sports: When did you first price up the 2012 contest and what were your opening odds?

John Rhodes: We opened our book straight after Europe had landed the 2010 match at Celtic Manor. We went even money both sides.

Sky Sports: What are they now?

JR: A stream of steady money has now forced the USA team into 4-5 favourites with Europe at 11-8 and the tie at 10-1.

Sky Sports: Jose Maria Olazabal named Ian Poulter and Nicolas Colsaerts as his wildcard picks. What were their biggest odds to make the team?

JR: Colsaerts, and it's hard to believe now, was 100-1 back in March 2011 to make the European team! His form last year and in 2012 has been sensational, and it's worth remembering that only four years ago he was ranked 1,305th in the world. You could say it's been a meteoric rise! Poulter's biggest price to make the team was, in fact, our opening show of 2-5.

Sky Sports: Are you betting on who Davis Love will choose as his four US wildcards on September 4?

JR: Yes, we've had this up a few weeks now, and with last week's Barclays result I believe it has thrown many more options/dilemmas into Love's thought process. We are currently 1-20 Stricker 2-7 Dustin Johnson and Hunter Mahan, 4-11 Jim Furyk, 2-5 Rickie Fowler, 5-2 last week's winner Nick Watney and 3-1 last week's third Brandt Snedeker. Its 7-1 bar those.

Sky Sports: With a month to go, have you seen much betting on the Ryder Cup yet and where has the money been going?

JR: Europe are completely friendless at the moment, all the money is for the USA side.

Sky Sports: What other markets can Sky Bet customers bet on at the moment?

JR: We have correct score, Top points scorers, and some Woods v McIlroy specials. More will be added once the USA team is finalised on September 4.

Sky Sports: What in-play markets will you be betting on during the tournament?

JR: We will have an array of markets in play. Obviously outright and match betting, then plenty of next hole markets on the various matches such as 'next hole winner', 'tee shots to hit the fairway', 'nearest in regulation' etc., and session betting too.

Sky Sports: Finally, John, how do you see the outcome?

JR: It really is going to be close. Six of the last seven renewals have been won by the home side, the only blemish when USA lost under the guidance of Hal Sutton (although the word 'guidance' there might not be the right one!). So at present I will go for a narrow USA victory, possibly it even finishing like it did at Celtic Manor and going down to the very last singles match.
