The Southern Kings have been dealt a blow after winger Michael Killian was ruled out of their miss the Super Rugby debut.

Killian broke his arm on Friday during a practice session, with the injury confirmed following x-rays over the weekend.

The winger will now miss the opening game against the Western Force, while he is a doubt for the South African derby with the Sharks.

The 29-year old has vital Super Rugby experience for his new franchise, having been a regular for the Lions.

Director of rugby Alan Solomons said: "Michael has a fracture to the mid third of his radius and will be out for between four to six weeks, which means he will most likely miss out on the opening game against Western Force and most likely the Sharks game as well."
