London Welsh have continued their preparations for a return to the Aviva Premiership with the signing of Newport Gwent Dragons flanker Darren Waters.

Waters, 29, becomes the Exiles' latest new arrival after three seasons with the Dragons.

The back-row forward impressed Welsh head coach Justin Burnell in the Dragons’ LV= Cup victory at the Kassam Stadium in February 2013.

"I've known Darren for a long time, going back to watching him during his time at Pontypridd and then at the Dragons, and he is a sheer raw talent," Burnell said.

"He's phenomenal at the breakdown, one of the best I've seen, and he has an abundance of energy.

"He is going to be an absolutely fantastic asset and a really positive addition to our environment."
