Argentina coach Santiago Phelan has kept faith in the starting XV that lost to Australia for tonight's outing against New Zealand in La Plata.

The Pumas had looked on course for a maiden Rugby Championship win as they led the Wallabies by 13 points with 20 minutes left only for two late tries to condemn them to a 23-19 defeat in Brisbane.

However Argentina are a different proposition at home, as South Africa found out as they held on for a 16-16 draw earlier in the competition.

Phelan has made two changes to his bench, though, with Marcos Ayerza and Tomas Vallejos included at the expense of Juan Pablo Orlandi and Leonardo Senatore.

"Our objective is to improve match by match," said Phelan.

"In defence the players are full of confidence, we're getting better and as a consequence the results will follow.

"To play this tournament implies effort rather than pressure. I single out the valour, commitment, heart and passion of the team. Saturday's goal will be to avoid the drain of the final."

Argentina: 15 Lucas Gonzalez Amorosino, 14 Gonzalo Camacho, 13 Marcelo Bosch, 12 Santiago Fernandez, 11 Horacio Agulla, 10 Juan Martin Hernandez, 9 Martin Landajo; 8 Juan Martin Fernandez Lobbe, 7 Juan Manuel Leguizamon, 6 Julio Farias Cabello, 5 Patricio Albacete, 4 Manuel Carizza, 3 Juan Figallo, 2 Eusebio Guinazu, 1 Rodrigo Roncero. Replacements: 16 Agustin Creevy, 17 Marcos Ayerza, 18 Tomas Vallejos, 19 Tomas Leonardi, 20 Nicolas Vergallo, 21 Martin Rodriguez, 22 Juan Imhoff
