Wales have been cut to 6/1 (from 12/1) with Sky Bet to win the Rugby World Cup after defeating Ireland 22-10 to reach the semi-finals.

Tries from Shane Williams, Mike Phillips and Jonathan Davies inspired Warren Gatland's side to victory over the Irish, and they are 5/6 to make the final.

In Saturday's other quarter-final, England were eliminated after suffering a 19-12 defeat to France at Eden Park.

The French are now 6/1 to win their first ever World Cup after exorcising the demons of 2007 with a victory against Martin Johnson's men.

Online betting company Sky Bet is unable to pick between Wales and France at this stage and both sides are available at 10/11 to win next weekend.

Rugby compiler Chris Smart said: "It couldn't be closer between the two. A lot will depend on which France side turns up next week.

"Whether it is the team who lost meekly to Tonga or the side who were so impressive against England remains to be seen."
