Simon Easterby: Full of praise for duo
Simon Easterby praised Liam Williams and Samson Lee after Scarlets had won their all-Welsh LV= Cup clash against Cardiff Blues 22-16.
Full-back Williams and tight-head prop Lee had returned to Scarlets following their release from the Wales squad earlier in the week.
The pair enjoyed influential performances and Easterby said: "Liam is going well and has gone well all season.
"He plays well most weeks and we had no complaints about having him back.
"It was great having them both back, to be fair, and Rob Howley (Wales coach) has been excellent at giving us an early indication over who is available.
"They have both gone really well, we have been pretty pleased with Liam for a couple of years now and Samson has come on this year and has been very effective."
However, Cardiff's director of rugby Phil Davies was left to rue the sin-binning of prop Sam Hobbs.
His 10-minute departure allowed the Scarlets recover from a 10-point deficit during the latter stages of the first half and he admitted: "That did not help us, we were in control of the game and if we had gone in 13-3 up it would have been really good.
"The scrum has improved immeasurably from the start of the season but tonight when we went down to seven men it was a real struggle."
