Italy international heading to Adams Park

Wasps have completed the capture of Italy international prop Fabio Staibano from Aironi. The former RaboDirect PRO12 side have now disbanded after their licence was revoked by the Italian Rugby Federation (FIR) on financial grounds. Staibano, formerly of French club Castres and Italian outfit Overmach Parma, is heading to Adams Park and will be playing Premiership rugby next season. Wasps rugby director David Young is hoping the 29-year-old will be able to help the club continue their progress in set-pieces.

Progress

Young told the club's official website: "We feel that we've made real progress with our set-piece in the past season, and we hope Fabio can help us continue to improve in that area. "He has solid international experience, and we are looking forward to welcoming him to the club over the summer." Staibano cannot wait to start playing in England, commenting: "This is an amazing opportunity to play in what I believe is the best league in the world with a fantastic club. "London Wasps have a strong history of top quality players running through it and I am very much looking forward to the move."
