James Scaysbrook: Closing in on 100 appearances for the Chiefs
James Scaysbrook and Jack Yeandle have both signed new contracts with Exeter, head coach Rob Baxter has confirmed.
Flanker Scaysbrook, who was among the nominees for the Aviva Premiership Player of the Year least season, has agreed a two-year deal while hooker Jack Yeandle has signed a new one-year contract.
"James has shown over the last couple of seasons he's one of the top performing sevens in the Premiership."
Scaysbrook has established himself as a key figure for the Chiefs since joining from Bath in 2009, scoring six tries as he closes in on 100 appearances for the club.
Yeandle has also impressed since moving to the south west from Doncaster last summer, and Baxter is delighted that both have committed to the club.
"James has shown over the last couple of seasons he's one of the top performing sevens in the Premiership," Baxter said. "His stats show that, particularly in the tackle and clear-out areas.
"He's a good communicator and a good link player. In a team that wants to play a fair bit of rugby, I think he makes more passes than any other seven in the Premiership and he's shown to be a good character.
"It's good continuity for ourselves and with him being signed alongside Ben White we've got some really good competition. With Joel Conlon starting to come through we've got some nice players in that position.
"Jack has had to bide his time a little bit. He's taken his opportunities in the LV in a very strong group of hookers we've got here at the club, and I'm really pleased with how he's done.
"Hopefully the next contract he signs will be on the back of having a really good year next year and it'll be a longer-term deal for him."
