Former All Blacks winger Hosea Gear is returning to France next season after signing a two-year deal with Clermont.
The 31-year-old joins the Top 14 runners-up from Super Rugby side Waikato Chiefs, and he already has experience of French domestic rugby after turning out for Toulouse in the 2013-14 season.
Gear, 31, who played 14 Tests and scored six tries for New Zealand from 2008 to 2012, joins a strong Clermont squad boosted by a number of new signings.
Clermont have also signed Flip Van Der Merwe, Scott Spedding, Waisake Naholo, Adrien Plante and Camille Gerondeau, as well as adding another wing option in David Strettle from Saracens.
