Australia scrum-half Nic White will join Top 14 club Montpellier next season.

The 24-year-old Brumbies star, who has 19 caps, has signed a two-year contract with the option of extending it by a further year and he will be reunited with former club coach Jake White, who joined the club late last year when Fabien Galthie was suspended.

Montpellier have also signed South Africa fly-half Demetri Catrakilis on similar terms.

Catrakilis is presently playing for the Stormers, having previously been with Western Province, and he has been signed to back-up France international Francois Trinh-Duc.

Montpellier's season has been in decline since Trinh-Duc broke his leg in a Top 14 match in early October.

They have been knocked out of the European Champions Cup and are presently eighth in the Top 14, two places outside the play-off spots.
