Luke Burgess looks set to team up with the Melbourne Rebels next season after agreeing to an early release from his deal at Toulouse.
The Australian scrum-half was contract to Toulouse until May 2014, however he will now head home at the end of the current campaign.
Melbourne is the likely destination for Burgess with the Rebels looking to bolster their half-back options as Nick Phipps will be moving to the Waratahs
"I am going to leave. I have another opportunity," said Burgess.
"It's hard to work in another language, but that's not an excuse. It's a challenge that I appreciate.
"The rucks are different, the refereeing is different, that's true. But I have learned a lot playing in Europe."
