Castres flanker Ibrahim Diarra will miss the crucial Heineken Cup games against Northampton and Ulster through suspension.

Diarra was banned for eight weeks after found guilty of stamping on the head of Moray Low during last week's 10-8 home win over Glasgow.

The 29-year-old was found to be in contravention of Law 10.4(b) at a hearing in Dublin on Wednesday after clashing with Low during the second half of their fixture at Stade Pierre Antoine.

The offence was deemed to be at the high-end entry point suspension of nine weeks but due to a clean disciplinary record, Diarra had seven days deducted.

The Frenchman, who was the right to appeal, will be sidelined until 11 February, ruling him out of the back-to-back Heineken Cup fixtures against Northampton and Ulster in January.
