Perpignan are looking to sign a "medical joker" after Sofiane Guitoune was ruled out for six months.
Guitoune only joined the Catalans in the summer after the 22-year-old had impressed in ProD2 with Albi.
However he ruptured his cruciate knee ligaments in Saturday's opening fixture of the Top 14 season against Toulon.
Guitoune is now facing a lengthy spell out on the sidelines, forcing Perpignan to consider adding to their squad.
