Toulon's Martin Castrogiovanni and Delon Armitage charged with misconduct over Leicester incidents

Toulon pair Martin Castrogiovanni and Delon Armitage have been charged with misconduct following incidents at Leicester earlier this month.

Both are charged by the European Rugby Champions Cup organisers with bringing the game into disrepute and must face an independent disciplinary committee in London on December 17.

Castrogiovanni's charge comes after he called a press conference in the wake of the game and launched into an expletive-filled attack on his former club and its boss Richard Cockerill.

Cockerill has since said the tirade, during which he branded the Tigers an "amateur" club, "sullied what was a fantastic playing career" at Welford Road during which the Italy international became a fans' favourite.

"One thing it isn’t is an amateur club.," Cockerill told Sky Sports News HQ. "For him to say that, for me, it’s disgusting. He needs to make sure he apologises publically for that. I’m sure he’ll get disciplined in the right manner.”

Armitage, meanwhile, is charged with "making a number of comments to, or within earshot of, spectators using foul and abusive language".
