Biarritz duo Imanol Harinordoquy and Dimitri Yachvili are set to miss the start of the 2012/13 Top 14 season.
The France internationals are both set to undergo knee operations during the off-season, meaning they are facing up to three months on the sidelines.
With the new Top 14 season set to kick-off on August 18 it is unlikely either talismanic No.8 Harinordoquy or influential No.9 Yachvili will be fit in time.
The Amlin Challenge Cup champions are also set to be without Erik Lund and Talalelei Gray for the opening exchanges - also because of knee injuries.
