Ben Youngs: Will replace Mike Phillips at scrum-half for the Lions' second Test match with Australia
Ben Youngs and Tommy Bowe have spoken of their joy at being brought into the Lions XV for the second Test match with Australia on Saturday.
Victory in Melbourne could see the Lions secure their first Test series win since 1997 and scrum-half Youngs believes lining up alongside his brother, Tom, in the match will make the occasion all the more extraordinary.
"It's really special, you know, I'll savour the moment," he said. "Hopefully, it'll be nice if we come off together and we've won the game and we've done the job as a squad. Then we can really treasure it."
However, the Leicester Tigers half-back, 23, is adamant that while the Lions hold the advantage going into the clash, the tourists cannot afford to get ahead of themselves.
"You try and just focus on the game and not try and get too distracted of what comes after. I think we're in a great position," Youngs added.
"It's just wonderful to be part of this great tour and to get the opportunity to run out at the weekend, it's just going to be a moment to remember and I think we got tremendous strength and a huge amount of experience with O'Driscoll and guys like that (who) can put us in a really good forward in the game for 80 minutes."
Irish wing Bowe was delighted to make the starting line-up having feared his tour was over after fracturing his hand in the warm-up match with the Reds in Brisbane.
"I think to go from one of my biggest lows - to be told on the side of the pitch and go for an X-ray to see the fracture on my hand, to be told, pretty much, my tour was over - to still be here, it was such an amazing feeling," he said.
"To now be picked in what is probably one of the biggest matches of my career, it's a pretty surreal feeling."
