British and Irish Lions: Brian O'Driscoll looks for improvements

Brian O'Driscoll says he is pleased with the performances so far from the British and Irish Lions but insisted that improvements could still be made following their 64-0 win over a Combined Country XV on Tuesday.

The Ireland centre indicated that a good degree of familiarity amongst those in the squad has played a part in helping the tourists hit the ground running.

In particular, O'Driscoll was pleased to be reunited with Jamie Roberts in the centres - with the duo having combined to devastating effect in South Africa in 2009.

"It was nice to pick up where we left off four years ago," said O'Driscoll, who captained the Lions in Newcastle on Tuesday. "It's always nice when you know the people you're playing with."

Despite running in 10 tries on Tuesday, O'Driscoll felt that it could, and probably should, have been more.

"We certainly left a couple of plays out there," said O'Driscoll, who took his tally to nine tries in 16 appearances for the Lions when he crossed in the first half against the Combined Country XV.

"There was one great ball to me that I knocked on in the second half that I should have gotten away so there's just good intuition there."
