England head coach Stuart Lancaster was more than happy to let Alex Corbisiero join the British and Irish Lions squad in Australia.
The 24-year-old London Irish prop forward has been called up from England's tour of Argentina as cover for Cian Healy.
Ireland prop Healy was carried off with an ankle injury during the 69-17 victory over Western Force and he also faces a disciplinary hearing after being cited for allegedly biting Force scrum-half Brett Sheehan in Perth.
Corbisiero, who was rated unlucky to miss out on the original Lions squad selection, will depart Argentina from Salta, where England are currently preparing to face the Pumas in Saturday's first Test.
Lancaster said: "We are delighted for Alex. It's very pleasing for him after he missed the Six Nations through injury, and he goes with our full support and blessing.
"All the England players and management couldn't be more pleased for him to get this opportunity."
Corbisiero said: "I am going there to be first choice and to put my hand up.
"It's going to be a big challenge and there are so many quality players out there. Just to go out there is amazing, but once I'm out there I want to get in the Test team.
"I am really excited. I feel very proud to be included and involved in something as prestigious as the Lions."
England have no plans to add a replacement to their squad in Argentina at this stage.
